2024 RACE RESULTS HERE!

The 5th Yakima Mile presented by Home2 Suites and Tru by Hilton - Yakima Airport is a road Mile race traversing a beautiful 14-block gradual, point-to-point, downhill stretch of Yakima Avenue and open to runners of all ages & abilities who “want to run their fastest Mile." The USATF certified course begins on Yakima Avenue just east of 16th Avenue and ends in the shadow of Yakima’s historic Art Deco Larson Building, with lively music and cheering.

There will be 11 heats including a Family Walk, Stroll, Jog Mile, Youth Mile divisions, Military-First Responders-Healthcare Mile, Dog-Human Mile, Open Mile, Masters Mile and men’s & women’s Elite Athlete Mile PLUS a kids race to the finish line with elite athletes to conclude the evening.

The 2024 edition offers a guaranteed $29,200 overall prize purse with $24,400 Elite prize money going 8-deep per gender ($5000, $2500, $2000, $1000, $750, $500, $250 and $200). If the race winner beats the fastest Mile on Washington soil (see below), a $6000 bonus per gender will be awarded. In addition, sub-3:48 (men) or sub-4:20 (women) receive a $6000 time bonus (winner). Overall, the event's potential payout is $53,200 with the winner’s potential purse $17,000!

Thanks to race sponsor Home2 Suites and Tru, the event is free for all runners 18 & under. General registration is $25. Seniors (60-plus) can register for half price.

All event proceeds are donated to the YWCA Yakima. The YWCA touches the lives of thousands of people here in the valley through its 24-hour domestic violence emergency shelter, crisis hotline, affordable housing aid, legal advocacy and more.

The Yakima Mile returns as a BBTM Featured Event, showcasing America's best Mile races throughout the year.
