The inaugural Virginia Mason Memorial Downtown Yakima Mile is a road Mile race that takes over a beautiful 14-block gradual downhill stretch of Yakima Avenue to runners of all ages and abilities who “want to run their fastest Mile."

The Downtown Yakima Mile, the second stop on the BBTM Grand Prix Tour 2019 presented by Running Warehouse, offers a guaranteed $25,400 overall prize purse with $23,800 Elite prize money going 8-deep per gender ($5000, $3000, $1500, $1000, $750, $350, $200 and $100).

There will be 11 back-to-back heats for the family, youth, fire & police, elite athletes to tiny tots. Thanks to race sponsor Virginia Mason Memorial, the event is free for runners under 18-years-old.

In addition, if the race winner beats the Washington state record, a $5000 bonus per gender will be awarded.
