Inaugural Crown City Mile

Inaugural Crown City Mile

Wed, July 4, 9:30am

Coronado, CA

Easy Day Sports brings the newest addition to Coronado’s 44th annual 4th of July Run – the inaugural Crown City Mile on Orange Avenue. The Crown City Classic has featured a 12K (7.4 miles on 7/4) and 5K course with views of the bridge along Glorietta Boulevard for the last 43 years, and this year, we welcome a Mile race!

After runners complete their 12K or 5K runs, crowds will congregate on Orange Avenue for Coronado’s annual Independence Day parade. Just before the parade, the debut Crown City Mile will start on Orange & 4th Street and finish in Star Park Circle.

Divisions include Men’s, Women’s and Youth (ages 17 & under). Top three earn prize money ($200, $100 and $50) plus a $500 bonus will be awarded to Men’s and Women’s Mile champions if they break 4:00 minutes (male) or 4 minutes, 30 seconds (female) on the point-to-point course.

Maximum Mile-time requirements are in effect for runner registration to ensure all runners finish before the parade begins on Orange. Additionally, the ideal time standards and bonus prize money encourage elite athlete participation. Crown City Classic 12K and 5K runners are able to register for the Crown City Mile as well. The BBTM Featured Event, showcasing America's best Mile races throughout the year, is expected to sell out in its first year, as it is limited to 100 participants per division for exclusivity purposes.

All Crown City Mile runners will wear a “Team Coronado USA” style running-singlet, provided upon registration. Bib personalization is available for Crown City Milers as well.

Rep USA, run the Mile, celebrate Independence and join us on the Fourth in Coronado!
