Helen Schlachtenhaufen, a young rising American star, won the 2019 Adrian Martinez Classic Adro Mile, breaking the beam in 4:30.67. In 2018, she set her Mile personal record of 4:27.09 (#75 U.S. women sub-4:30) to finish third at the Adro Mile, and despite falling down before the finish line, she was also runner-up at the Aetna Falmouth Elite Mile (4:31.44).

At Dartmouth, Schlachtenhaufen won two Ivy League indoor Mile titles, set the 1500 meter school record (4:11.15) and qualified for the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships 1500m.

FUN FACT: Helen graduated with a psychology degree and plans to go to medical school.
